Arah Kiblat Kompas: find the Qibla direction in Indonesia

Arah Kiblat Kompas is a free online Qibla compass for Indonesia. It shows the exact Qibla direction, the direction Muslims face during prayer (salah), from wherever you are in the archipelago. It points toward the Kaaba inside the Masjid al-Haram in Makkah, using a live compass and an interactive map. There is nothing to install and no account to create, and it runs entirely in your web browser on any phone, tablet, or computer.

Using the compass takes three steps. First, share your location by tapping “Use my location” or searching a city or address. Second, if the compass needle drifts, calibrate it by moving your phone in a figure-8 motion, holding it flat and away from metal, magnets, and electronics. Third, rotate until the Kaaba marker meets the pointer to face the Qibla, or read the exact degree and use the map instead, which works on any device without a compass.

It uses your device location to compute the exact great-circle bearing to the Kaaba. On phones and tablets with a compass (magnetometer) sensor, the live compass rotates a needle to point at the Qibla in real time. On any device you can also use the interactive map, which draws a straight line from your location to the Kaaba. It corrects for magnetic declination using the World Magnetic Model, so the reading points to the real Qibla rather than raw magnetic north.

The calculated Qibla bearing is accurate to a fraction of a degree. A phone or physical compass points to magnetic north, which differs from true north by an amount (magnetic declination) that varies by location; many tools ignore this, but Arah Kiblat Kompas applies the current World Magnetic Model to correct for it. Real-world compass accuracy also depends on your device sensor and calibration, so for the most reliable result, calibrate the compass, hold the device flat, and cross-check with the map.
